The BJP had a day in the field taunt the congress after its deputy Shashi Tharoor said He ended up with an “egg on his face” to oppose India's neutral position towards the Ukrainian-Russia war, saying that this would leave Rahul Gandhi “with a red face”.
BJP leaders said it was “good to see” Congress leaders recognizing the world stature of Prime Minister Modi and hoped that the party would not “act” Tharoor for its frank praise of the center's foreign policy.
Curing the first time on the congress, the head of the BJP and former Minister of the Union, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, said that the vision of Prime Minister Modi for India and that the world was even admired by rival party leaders.
“The men of Congress, including Rahul (Gandhi), Chidambaram, Raghuram Rajan, must all eat their words (or eggs on the face) on the economy, UPI, manufacturing and much more,” tweeted Chandrasekhar without developing on his charge.
Economist Raghuram Rajan is not part of any political party and was the Governor of RBI from 2013 to 2016.
BJP cell leader, Amit Malviya, said the knives would be at the congress after Tharoor's remarks, which would probably leave the chief of opposition Rahul Gandhi “with a red face”.
“This will probably leave Rahul Gandhi Rouge, the Congress Department of Congress rushing to clarify that Shashi Tharoor's remarks reflect his personal opinions – and not the official position of the Party – although Tharoor led the party accusation on the issue in Parliament,” Malviya tweeted.

Reiterating his position on the praise of Prime Minister Modi on the diplomatic position of India, Tharoor told the news agency Ani: “Comments speak for themselves. Nothing to add.”
He has also commented on the role of India in the Russian-Ukraine conflict, suggesting that the country should adopt a cautious position for the moment. “At this point, I am not aware of India having been invited to do anything,” he said. He noted that “President Trump took the lead by talking to the Russians on this subject” and added that India should “look and wait” unless you are invited to participate.
Tharoor underlined the “very long peace record” of India and said that the country was available “for constructive purposes, for peace”. Any involvement, he said, would depend on “what type of agreement it is and what is required to monitor it”.
