PM Modi exhorts the Gujarat community to adopt natural agriculture, to contribute to Viksit Bharat
Ahmedabad:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the Bharwad community in Gujarat on Thursday to adopt natural agriculture and plant trees as part of the campaign “EK Ped Maa Ke Naam”.
He also urged the community, which is mainly in livestock farming, to help make India a nation developed by 2047.
Prime Minister Modi practically addressed the members of the community who had gathered in large numbers to Bavalieali Dham in Dholera Taluka d'Ahmedabad to attend a religious event.
“We have given immense pain to the mother earth while we continue to pull water, then throw poisonous chemicals. Now, it is our responsibility to make it healthy again and the cow dung can help rekindle the land. I urge you all to adopt natural agriculture and serve motherland,” he said.
He called on the community to ensure that their cattle receives vaccination strokes, provided free of charge by the center, against illnesses of the foot and mouth.
“We have to build Viksit Bharat over the next 25 years and I need the support of your community for this. And I firmly believe that the first step is to develop our villages,” said the Prime Minister.
He informed the members of the community that the Kisan credit card, which was earlier issued to farmers, is now extended to livestock breeders, allowing them to benefit from loans at low interest rates.
“We are also directing the Rashtriya Gokul mission for the conservation of indigenous cattle breeds. You should take advantage of these diets. I also urge you to plant a tree under the EK Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign,” said the PM in its address.
He described Bavaliyali Dham a place of faith, culture and religion.
Prime Minister Modi called on the community to “change depending on the circumstances and to make computers learn (operate).
Earlier in the day, the chief minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, had visited Bavalieali Dham and had attended the religious program organized by the community of Bharward.
