Spanish PM to meet Xi Jinping in China and also visit Vietnam

The Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Schez will go to China in April to meet President Xi Jinping according to Bloomberg News. The Spanish Prime Minister will take advantage of his trip to Asia to visit Vietnam in order to open new market opportunities. The trip will be the third of Schez in China in just over two years, after that of March 2023 to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and that last September.
Schez continues with its intention to continue to strengthen the trade links he developed at his last visit in early September of last year. Schez then declared, in a message on social networks, that the two countries share “the desire to strengthen political, commercial and investment relations”.
At that time, Snchez stressed that Vietnam became attractive for foreign investments and said that “thanks to the free trade agreement with the European Union, Spanish companies, managers in sectors such as infrastructure and renewable energies, will be able to develop great commercial opportunities in Vietnam”.

Schez will go to China in a difficult commercial context due to the tariff war waged by Donald Trump. More recently, during his speech at the Davos Forum, he argued that Spain is committed to “more trade” and sees “opportunities around the world”, notably China, India, Latin America and Africa.
