Forged on the false diploma and the thesis of Jokowi, UGM revealed the fact
Kompas.com – The question of the authenticity of the 7th Indonesian presidential diploma Joko Widodo was again widely discussed on social networks, in particular on the X platform.
The debate exceeded after a number of citizens questioned the types of policies used in the Jokowi diploma when they are graduates from the Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
An account, @tija ***, shared a declaration by a digital medical-legal expert Romon Hasiholan Sianipar who said that the diploma was not original.
“The forest diploma of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), which was published by UGM in 1985, was false,” said Rismon during the download.
In fact, citizens also doubted the authenticity of the diploma for having allegedly used the new Roman police.
They argued that the fonts were not widely introduced until 1992 via the Windows 3.1 operating system, while the Jokowi diploma was published in 1985.

UGM explanation
Responding to the accusation, UGM has downloaded information via the official website, the dean of the Faculty of Forestry UGM, Sigit Sunarta, regretted the circulation of information considered as misleading.
He pointed out that Rismon, who is also a former student of the UGM of the Faculty of Engineering, should prioritize the valid research methods before transmitting a complaint.
“We deeply regret the deceptive information provided by a speaker who should be able to clarify and educate the public with useful information,” said Sigit in his declaration on the UGM campus, Friday 3/21).
In addition, Sigit stressed that the comparison should be made with diplomas and a thesis of other graduate students the same year.
With regard to the Roman Police Times New which is presented as an inevitable proof, Sigit said that similar fonts are commonly used by students to print cover and ratification sheets on the printing site.
“Around the UGM campus at that time, there was already an impression such as Prima and Sanur (already closed) which provided the thesis coverage printing services,” he said.
He also explained that the coverage and ratification sheet of Jokowi's thesis were printed in printing, but the whole content of the thesis composed of 91 pages still uses a typewriter.
“Many student theses use the coverage and the ratification sheet with a printing machine,” he said.
