258 Crore spent on foreign visits to PM Modi in the past three years

The government of the Union has started nearly 258 crosses on 38 foreign visits undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra modified between May 2022 and December 2024, according to data shared in Rajya Sabha.

Other important expenses included 5.34 crores for Russia in 2024, 14.36 crosses for Italy in 2024, 5.51 crore for Brazil in 2024 and 5.45 crore for Guyana in 2024. Meanwhile, one of the cheapest trips was the visit of Nepal in May 2022, which cost 80 Lakh. The visit to Ukraine in 2024 amounted to 2.52 crosses.

Among the countries visited in 2022 were Germany, Denmark, France, Water, Uzbekistan and Indonesia. In 2023, Prime Minister Modi also visited Australia, Egypt, South Africa and Greece. The trend continued in 2024 with visits to Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Italy, Brazil and Guyana.

In his response, Minister Margherita also provided spending data for the Prime Minister's visits before 2014. The figures, not adjusted for inflation or currency fluctuations, show that visits were much less expensive in the past.

In 2011, the visit to the United States cost 10.74 crosses, the visit to Russia in 2013 cost 9.95 crosses, the visit to France in 2011 cost 8.33 crores and the visit to Germany in 2013 cost 6.02 crore.
