Yogyakarta, kompas.tv – Gadjah Mada University (UGM) again gave clarifications related to the accusation of the false diploma of President Joko Widodo who was moving on social networks on Friday (03/21/2025).
This controversy began with a declaration by the former speaker of Mataram University, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, who questioned the validity of the diploma of Jokowi, in particular linked to the use of the new Roman times which he considered was not available in the 1980s.

The dean of the Faculty of Forestry UGM, Sigit Sunarta, stressed that the diploma and thesis of the original Joko Widodo. He regretted the Rismon Declaration he judged had no solid basis.
“We deeply regret the deceptive information provided by a speaker who should be able to clarify and educate the public with useful information,” said Sigit on the official UGM website.
According to Sigit, at the time, fonts similar to Times New Roman were commonly used to print around the campus.

We know that the Joko Widodo coverage and thesis ratification sheet is printed in print, but the whole content of the 91 -page thesis still uses a typewriter.

He added that the diploma numbering system at the Faculty of Forestry UGM at that time followed the model of the registration number of graduates students, not using certain clusters as has been questioned.
The numbering does not only apply to the Joko Widodo diploma, but applies to all graduates of graduates of the Faculty of Forestry.
“The number is based on the order of the identification number of students who graduated and added by FKT, represents the name of the faculty,” he said.
