UGM has clarified the accusations of fake diploma from Jokowi, explain the use of new Roman times

The former professor of the University of Mataram, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar doubted the authenticity of diplomas and the thesis of the 7th president of Indonesia Joko Widodo or Jokowi as a graduate of Gadjah Mada University (UGM). The reason is that the thesis and thesis coverage sheet uses the new Roman times which, according to him, does not yet exist in the 1980s in the 1990s. The dean of the Faculty of Forestry UGM, Sigit Sunarta, regretted the misleading information conveyed by Rismon.

“We deeply regret the deceptive information provided by a teacher who should be able to clarify and educate the public with useful information,” said Sigit on Friday (3/21) on the UGM campus.

According to Sigit, Rismon should not only display the diploma and the thesis of Joko Widodo which have been examined, but must also make comparisons with the diplomas and thesis published the same year at the Faculty of Forestry.

With regard to the use of the new Roman police force on the thesis and diploma coverage, as said that Rismon is considered doubtful of the authenticity of the document, Sigit said that that year, the students were plural using a new Roman police time or letters which were almost similar to him, in particular to print the coverage and the printing sheet of the printing site. Even around the UGM campus, there is already an impression such as Prima and Sanur (already closed-red) which provides printing services for thesis.

“The fact of the existence of printing machines in Sanur and Prima should also be known to be concerned because the person concerned also studies at the UGM,” he said.

It has been indicated that the Joko Widodo thesis ratification sheet was printed in print, but the whole content of the 91-Page script still used a typewriter.

“There are many student theses that use coverage and ratification sheet with a print machine,” he said.

Problem The serial number of the Joko Widodo diploma would not use clusters but only figures, Sigit said that the number of numbering diplomas at that time, the Faculty of Forestry had its own policy and that there was no uniformity of the university level. The numbering does not only apply to the Joko Widodo diploma, but applies to all graduates of graduates of the Faculty of Forestry.

“The number is based on the order of the identification number of students who graduated and added by FKT, represents the name of the faculty,” he said.

“Keep in mind that Joko Widodo's diploma and thesis are authentic. He had studied here, his classmate he knew well, he was active in student activities (Silvagama), he was registered to take many courses, working on his thesis, so his diploma was issued by UGM as original,” he said.

The same has also been transmitted by the president of the Faculty of the Forest Senate, San Afri Awang. San Afri said he had his own experience on the use of the new Roman police time on thesis coverage.

“I still remember when I made a blanket (thesis), executed towards Prima. At that time, there was already a famous place of cover, Prime and Sanur. Dactylographed problem using a computer machine, do not be surprised that UGM also has a typing service using the IBM PC computer.

Even so, said San Afri, all students of the Faculty of Forestry have chosen to print coverage in printing services. There are also students who choose to print the cover and the ratification sheet using the writing of the typewriter.

“My friend who is economically incapable, many make coverage sheets and approval with writing machines,” he recalls. (D-4)
