Daly Bread: The Young Movereviewing New Prime Minister Early Election Date

Twenty-four hours after his appointment under article 76 (1) a) of the Constitution to replace the former Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, the new Prime Minister Stuart Young called the next general elections for April 28.

This young decision is probably a good decision for its prospects to be renamed as Prime Minister and to obtain the necessary validation of the people through the Democratic voting process given the apparent disarray of the United National Congress (UNC) opposition and the scrambling to conclude alliances.

The electorate can be presented with what the deceased Lloyd could describe as a collection side and an easy to defeat.

Is the young movement good for the country in terms of public interest? It is probably because it quickly allows us to decide which of political parties and which, as Prime Minister, will govern us for the next five years, and thus avoid political instability.

However, there are potential problems resulting from the speed of the young movement. We do not know, for example, if the presence of several religious holidays during the period of the chosen electoral campaign was envisaged by arriving at the decision to call the election of April 28, 2025.

The possible repercussions of this can be settled if the rivalic political parties quickly compete that there must not be any campaign at the time which were holidays by reference to religious observance.

Something else was more obviously missed in the triumphant haste to make this strategic decision of an immediate dissolution of the Parliament. This omission was the inability to re-assert the parliament before dissolution, so that the new Minister of Finance is sworn as a senator, when it is a condition for the holding of his ministerial office that he is a deputy for the Parliament.

According to my friends, I gave the free advice from the National Movement of Govern Peoples (PNM) in early January, I aroused the Rowley clique in the PNM hierarchy as to what was necessary to comply with article 76 (1) (a) (a) of the Constitution in order to have young people properly appointed as Prime Minister.

These friends may again tease me on free advice.

The 24-hour prosecutor general, Camille Robinson-record may believe that this omission is not important for the real power of the real authority to exercise the functions of a minister because he derives this authority from his appointment by the president. But I fear that there is more omission than that.

No doubt, although power is invested with the president to appoint Dhanpaul as a senator and minister, his appointment depends on his completion or his crystalization on Dhanpaul takes the oath of allegiance as a deputy required by article 57 of the Constitution.

Can the appointment of Dhanpals be fully formed without the performance of this oath of allegiance?

Unfortunately, at the time of writing the editorial's moment, a disturbing allegation concerning the new distant prime ministers was revealed.
