PM Modi at the inauguration of Hisar airport, a new power unit in Haryana
On June 13, 2024, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed with Alliance Air to start the air services at five cities: Ayodhya, Jammu, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh, said Saini. He added that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) had requested a license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on January 23 of this year, and on March 13, the DGCA issued the AAI license.
The chief minister also reaffirmed in his budgetary speech on March 17, that Hisar flights to Ayodhya, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Jammu would soon begin.
Regarding the electricity project, said Saini, the Union power ministry granted approval to Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) for the establishment of this third unit at the thermal power plant based in Yamunanagar. This project is an expansion of the 2,300 MW existing in the installation. The project has a 52 -month completion deadline, commercial operations that should start within 48 months.
He added that with the addition of the 800 MW unit, the Haryanas inner energy production capacity will increase to 3,382 MW. Currently, the state has an installed power capacity of around 14,000 MW, of which 2,582 MW are generated by HPGCL.
The project has already received authorization from the Ministry of the Environment of the Union, Forests and Climate Change, as well as the approval of the Pollution Control Council of the Haryana State.
Saini has also announced that an event at the state level will take place to mark the birthday of Babasaheb Dr Br Ambedkar. The presence of the Prime Ministers as the main investment of the program will serve as inspiration for the young generation and will strengthen morale through the State, he said.
