The Center “accepts” the bilawal offer for security talks with PTI – Pakistan

Lahore: The federal government has accepted that the president of the PPP Bilawal Bhutto-Zardaris proposes to initiate a dialogue with Imran Khans PTI to develop a consensus to combat terrorism.

The government has no objection if Bilawal Bhutto engages in dialogue with the PTI, the adviser of Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday. He said that if the president of the PPP managed to obtain a commitment from the PTIS to participate in the talks, the government would have no problem winning the meeting of the national parliamentary security committee.

Bilawal Bhutto is already part of the government, and if the talks between PTI and the power coalition succeed, it will end up being a success for the government itself, he said, also confirming that the PML-N had demanded a part of power in the Sindh of the PPP.

One day earlier, Mr. Bhutto-Zardari had urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to summon another meeting of the national security committee, even after a month, to establish a national consensus to fight terrorism.

He underlined the need for national unity to counter the growing tide of terrorism and called on the Prime Minister to take on board all political parties, including those who jumped the previous session of the Committee.

He said the building consensus on national issues had become difficult, but we have to unite to fight the terrorists. All political stakeholders must meet for the country and the nation instead of preferring personal interests.

The major opposition alliance led by the PTI, Tehreek Tahaffuz-i-ayeen Pakistan, had chosen not to attend the recent security group, citing the absence of an imprisoned founder of PTI, Imran Khan.

The meeting of parliamentary committees, also assisted by the Chief of Staff of the Army Gen Asim Munnir and the CEO Isi LT Gen Asim Malik, was held in the context of the rise of terrorism, including the diversion of the Jaffar Express in the Bolan du Baloutchistan district.
