Mahadev App Scam: CBI Raids performed “to generate content for PM Modi's speech”, says Bhupeh Baghel | India News

New Delhi: the former chief minister of Chhattisgarh and the main leader of the Bhupeh Baghel congress said late Wednesday that the CBI raids on his premises were politically motivated. He alleged that the action should create material for the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modis during his visit to the State on March 30.
Baghel said he had not received any notice on the searches of his official residence in Raipur and said that he was not responsible for “all that the CBI had planted there”.
The CBI carried out searches in the residences of Baghels in Raipur and Bhilai on Wednesday as part of the alleged RS 6,000 crore Mahadev application scam. Officials said the senior officials of the police and people associated with the former chief minister had also been searched.
Baghel said the CBI had taken documents related to his assets and seized his mobile phones from his residence in Bhilai. After research in his Bhilai residence, Baghel said: “The raids were politically motivated. The action was carried out just to generate content for the Speech of the Prime Minister during his next visit to the State on March 30. There was no other reason.”
He also said that the CBI had a search warrant for his residence in Bhilai but did not inform him of the raid in his official residence in Raipur.
“I did not receive any opinions on the raids in the official residence of Raipur. I learned the raids after my exit from the house. Whatever they planted, I will not be responsible for this because neither me nor the members of my family were there. It is their plot (CBI),” he said by speaking to journalists.
Baghel said that the previous government of Congress acted against the Paris Mahadev application.
“During the (previous) government of the Congress in the State, around 74 FIR were filed in relation to the Paris Mahadev application and more than 200 people were arrested and more than 2,000 bank accounts linked there were frozen.
“We have taken measures against the application, but they (government agencies) claim that we have protected the application and taken money. How will the one who will take measures to accept protection money? Protection money is taken when there is a double engine (government) and bets are still functional,” he said.
He added that the Congress Government had asked the center to issue a surveillance notice against apps promoters, Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, and to stop them abroad.
“But (Guru Religieux) Pradeep Mishra, who praises the BJP, visited Dubai by becoming a guest of Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal.
“If CBI officials have courage, they should ask Pardeep Mishra whose program is currently underway in the original District of chief Vishnu Deo Sai in Jashpur about his relations with Sarabh Chandrakar and Pradeep Mishra,” said Baghel.
He also said that even if the promoters of the application had been seen in photos with the leaders of the BJP, no measure was taken against them, while the leaders of the Congress were the subject of an investigation.
Baghel mentioned that he was supposed to attend a meeting of the editorial committee in Delhi for the AICC session in Ahmedabad, but could not go because of the raids.
“The CBI entered my house around 7:30 am and left at 9:15 pm despite the search for research around 4:15 pm fifteen days ago, the emergency had made a descent in my house. What they (CBI) will get by a descent?” He asked.
He said that the emergency had taken photocopies from his documents related to the property, while the CBI won the original papers.
“I told the CBI to leave photocopies because it will follow them. Otherwise, what they will recover in the name of the action?” He said.
Baghel also said that although the RAID EDS was linked to an alleged alcohol scam and that the CBIS action was linked to the Mahadev application, the two agencies investigated its assets.
“The previous government of the BJP Raman Singh-Head had surveyed the assets. The State Eow did the same. I invite all the agencies to meet and do an investigation immediately. Actions aim to defam and harass me,” he said.
He alleged that the BJP was frustrated after being appointed in charge of the Punjab Congress and was recently authorized by the Court in a CD (Sleaze) case of seven years.
Meanwhile, chief minister of chhattisgarh, Arun Sao, said that Congress should not link CBI's searches to politics and should cooperate in the investigation.
Last year, the government of the State gave 70 cases linked to the Mahadev scam at the CBI, including one registered with the Wing of Economic Incrections (EOW).
