It was easy to hate Donald Trump when he went from reality TV in politics a decade ago. In 2015, Trump campaigned for the president as an obvious populist: personality on the party, politics and even the country. He positioned himself as a curator, but he was really not one.

Instead, Trump said he was the miracle vaccine that would heal what was sick of America. Maga fans could not have enough.

After January 6, 2021, I really hated it. And as the 2025 campaign started, I did not want to support a former president who would not give in his electoral loss and who had a sordid personal history, including his ill -treatment of women and a condemnation for crime. He also groaned on social networks like a 9 -year -old boy who had lost game privileges. I thought there were stronger republican candidates who would better adopt conservative ideas.

But republican primary voters chose to support Trump in 2024, and he chose an excellent ally in Ohio, Senator JD Vance as a vice-presidential candidate. Until then, the choice was obvious: supporting a guy who hates leftism or supporting far left progressives that would push America even further in the decline. Our elections are binary, despite what my libertarian friends think, so the choice was clear.

Currently, two months after Trump's second term, I expected to be embarrassed and indignant by our new president. But I am not. I am pleasantly surprised.

In fact, my mind is blown away. I am lucky to have witnessed some of the most radical changes ever attempted in the federal government and in an extraordinarily short time.

There are times when moderation is logical. But the current national and international climate requires dramatic changes. Maintaining the status quo was not tenable. We needed a leader to make changes on many fronts aggressively, including the economy, size and scope of the federal government and the American approach to foreign relations.

Trump reforms the government and restores freedom

Americans who are alarmed by Trump should recognize the importance of the country's decline under progressive leaders. President Joe Biden led the country to the far left, losing control of our borders, increasing the budget deficit and national debt and imposing a progressive social program which ignored what most Americans believed.

Democratic candidate for president Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz were even more progressive and would have made the return of the ship even more difficult.

The quest for American freedom is not exclusive to a 249 -year -old revolution, identifiable by red coats and taxation without representation. Tyrannia is now more difficult to spot, but it can be found in distant ideas on the left integrated into federal aid programs, higher taxes and attempted violation of personal freedoms.

The Republicans have sometimes joined these efforts, but the Democrats are much worse.

Trump's presidency is not normal, and it's a good thing

My decisive test for Trump's efficiency is not to know if he passes the normality test he has already failed. Is mine simply: Trump supports the ideas and policies that make my family and me more for free? Love him or hate him, Trump does exactly that.

Trump and the Congress develop a plan to extend its 2017 tax discounts, which will allow Americans to keep their money more and combine economic growth.

With the help of Elon Musk, Trump finds and eliminates government waste and abandonment. It was a disorderly process, and I want Trump to have used a scalpel rather than a hammer, but his efforts will restore our government to its original objective: empowerment, not the Americans.

In less than three months, Trump revitalized military recruitment, protected the ability of women and girls to compete fairly in sports and obtained the southern border of our country.

Illegal border crossings are down 94% compared to last year. It is so extraordinary that few media on the left or in the inherited media even addressed the subject, preferring to minimize the crime, drugs and other massive problems from the chaotic border policies of Biden.

Trump's leadership, although not traditional, has also helped to return the hostages held by Hamas to their families, to earth astronauts and common sense to public schools.

Is Trump a disappointment for some? Of course. But even CNN this week must have recognized that the American people are still on board the Trump train, the ratings of the President's favorability up since his elected representative in November.

And for the first time for a long time, polls show that an increasing number of Americans believe that the nation is heading in the right direction.

“According to Marist, 45% say it was on the right track,” said Harry Enter on Tuesday, in chief of CNN data. “This is the highest second that Marist has measured since 2009. Traditional Republicans and progressive democrats could be the biggest losers in Trump's second term, but the greatest winners are the Americans who most like freedom.
