Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, prisoner, is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was appointed for the Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to human rights and democracy during his reign.

The appointment was announced today by members of Pakistan World Alliance (PWA), a lawyer founded last December, operating within the Norwegian political party Sentrum.

We are pleased to declare, on behalf of the Sentrum parties, that in cooperation with we have appointed Mr. Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, for the Nobel Peace Protect to protect human rights and democracy in Pakistan, said the Sentrum party in the social network X.

Khan was also nominated in 2019 for the Nobel Peace Affairs for his efforts to promote peace in the south of Azin.

Each year, the Norwegian Nobel Committee receives hundreds of appointments, then selected the winner through a long monthly process.

Khan, the founder of Pakistan Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), has been in prison since August 2023. In January of this year, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for abstraction and corruption.

It was the fourth major case in which the former Prime Minister was sentenced. The courts have canceled or suspended three previous penalties linked to the sale of state gifts, to discover state secrets and to an illegal marriage.

Khan lost power after a vote in Parliament in April 2022. He denied all allegations, calling them politically motivation.
