Erdogan promises trkiyes to strong opposition to all forces disturbing peace in Syria
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reiterated that Trkiye will strongly oppose all efforts to prevent Syria from achieving sustainable peace and stability, reaffirming its continuous support for the Syrian government.
Speaking after a meeting of the cabinet in Ankara, Erdogan clearly indicated that Trkiye would be held alongside the Syrian government against any actor seeking to disrupt peace, Caliber.az reports by Turkish media.
“Whoever tries to prevent Syria from reaching sustainable peace and stability, I say it openly, will find us against them alongside the Syrian government,” said President Erdogan.
The president also underlined the previous efforts of Trkiyes to thwart Syria's attempts to division by terrorism, warning that such efforts would not be tolerated in any form.
“Just as we do not allow Syria to be divided by a terrorist corridor, we will not allow this country either to be divided by other corridors,” said President Erdogan.
Commenting on significant political changes in Syria since December 8, said Erdogan, there is no possibility of returning to the Pré-Dec. 8 period in Syria.
With the revolution of December 8, a new era began in the country. Instead of testing the limits of Trkiyes' patience in Syria, some actors should appreciate the friendship of Trkiye, act as a state, not a [terror] band.
In his remarks, the Turkish president also reaffirmed Trkiyes' commitment to prioritize justice, peace and diplomacy, in particular at a time when tensions are increasing, and new crises are continuously emerging.
