World Trade War: China officially extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the country later this year for the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO). The Chinese ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, confirmed the invitation, saying, warmly welcomed Prime Minister Modi to visit China for the Summit of the OCS this fall. In a written response to India timeXU added that China is ready to work with India and other OCS member states to jointly accommodate a friendly, united and fruitful summit, aimed at inaugurating SCO in a high quality development phase.

The invitation comes at an era of intensification of world disputes, especially between the United States and China. President Donald Trump recently imposed prices up to 145% on certain Chinese goods, certain functions reaching 245%. In retaliation, China has levied 125% tariffs from American products. India has also been taken in cross-fires when the United States slapped a 27% tariff on certain Indian exports earlier this year, although a 90-day break has since brought a certain relief.
