Imran Khan writes at CJP Yahya Afridi on “political victimization” – Pakistan

The founding president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, wrote a letter to the chief judge of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and the acting chief of the judge of the High Court of Islamabad, Sarfraz Dogar in the country.

The letter of nine pages, written by the main lawyer Salman Akram Raja on behalf of the former Prime Minister, is entitled the State of the Constitution and the application of the law in Pakistan.

Imran Khan referred to more than 200 cases registered against him and called for the incarceration of himself and his wife, Bushra Bibi, because of a political vendetta.

The letter also mentions the senior PTI leaders, notably Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Mian Mehmood Rasheed and Ejaz Chaudhry, highlighting their continuous detention.

He also indicates that Khan has only been authorized to speak to his sons twice by phone in the last four months. He was not allowed to meet Bushra Bibi or even access the newspapers. Sometimes he has been confined to a small cell for several days.

Due to the non-conduct of trial hearings in prison, Khan says he has not met his family or lawyers in the past two months. According to him, even meetings planned with his legal team have been refused.

The letter also addresses the general elections of February 8, the gathering of November 26 and the 26th constitutional amendment. Khan claims that the constitutional bench holds the power to reign on key issues, including military courts and reserved seats.
