Imran Khan's party deposits the petition to ask for his prison release for tensions with India

Islamabad: The party of the former Pakistani Prime Minister imprisoned Imran Khan filed a request before the high court on Friday to request his release from prison, claiming a threat to his life because of the impact of prolonged detention on his health and with a view to the current situation with India. Ali Amin Gandapur approached Theislamabad High Court for the release of the party founder. Khan, 72, was imprisoned in the Adiala prison in Rawalpindi, the city of Garrison, since mid-2013 in relation to several cases. “The High Court of Islamabad was approached for the release of Imran Khan. A request was filed by chief minister Kp Ali Amin,” said the party. “It was asked that, taking into account the current war situation with India, national harmony and solidarity, and due to the fear of a drone attack in Adiala prison, it is immediately released in parole / probation.” The court did not set any date for the plaid hearing. Addressing the media in the premises of the High Court of Islamabad, Gandapur described the founder of the PTI as a chief of the Ummah Muslim (community) and expressed his hope for justice. He expressed his concern about the lack of law and order in the country, declaring that they had struck at all doors by looking for justice. Gandapur argued in the petition that the prolonged detention of Khan due to cases with political motivation violated the fundamental rights of the founder of the PTI. He said that the Constitution provides for an appeal in parole to avoid such detention. The petitioner also mentioned that there was a risk of deterioration of health due to prolonged imprisonment. The petition also noted that the founder of the PTI did not violate the prison rules during his detention.
