Viral Prabowo slips his tongue, says teachers’ salaries have increased by 300 percent, well, turns out that’s what the judge meant!
President Prabowo Subianto became a public concern after he suffered a slip of the tongue, i.e. a twisted tongue, during a speech to members of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

After clarifying his statement, the General Chairman (Ketum) of the Gerindra Party explained that the government is focused on improving the welfare of judges in Indonesia.
According to Prabowo, this measure was taken to strengthen the integrity of the judicial system while preventing corruption and bribery practices within the judiciary.
He even admitted that he was proud after receiving a report on the income level of Indonesian judges, which was starting to become competitive with neighboring countries.
“I am now proud of the report that our Chief Justice of the Supreme Court earns more than the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Singapore and also that our youngest judge earns a higher salary than the junior judge in Malaysia,” explained senior Danjen Kopassus.
The government wants a cleaner justice system
Former Minister of Defense under President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that improving the welfare of judges is not only an economic issue, but also part of efforts to build a clean and honest judiciary.
The government, he said, wants to ensure that law enforcement officers are not easily tempted by corruption or intervention by certain parties.
“It’s a real step for us to create our own institutions. We don’t want our judges to be bribed or bought. We don’t want all our other officials to be like that,” he concluded.
