P.Resident Recep Tayyip Erdogan is working to arrange a face-to-face meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Los Angeles next month during a World Cup soccer match between Turkey and the United States, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke to Bloomberg.

The possible meeting would take place less than two weeks before Turkey hosts the NATO summit in Ankara, a gathering that carries heightened stakes as Washington signals it may further reduce its role in supporting the alliance’s European military operations.
