DPP Chairman: Jokowi is already at PSI, Kaesang will announce his position soon
Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) DPP Bestari Barus said that the 7th President Joko Widodo was already in the PSI. However, Jokowi’s official position within the party will be announced directly by PSI General Chairman Kaesang Pangarep at a time deemed appropriate.
This was conveyed by Bestari when responding to Jokowi’s question who would be Chairman of the PSI Advisory Council.
“So what is Mr. Jokowi’s position, Mr. Jokowi is already at PSI. Later, regarding when his position will be announced, I also conveyed it to several places. It will be announced immediately by Mas Kaesang, as general president, that is,” Bestari said on Thursday (28/5).
He said that although Jokowi’s official position had not yet been announced, the PSI had now positioned Jokowi as a boss or role model in the party’s movement.
“However, we also placed Pak Jokowi as a patron. Our role model in our work at PSI,” he said.
According to him, the PSI is just waiting for the right momentum to announce it to the public.
“It’s not Mas Kaesang’s decision, but the opportunity, the moment and of course the time is right, you know. Just be patient, you won’t run away. If I was asked if yes, yes, I answered that my hope is like that,” Bestari said.
“The clearer it is, the more we can let the public know that he is already in the PSI and how many times he declared that he would fully support the PSI and work hard for the PSI, at the congress,” he continued.
He also referred to Jokowi’s statement that he was always ready to go directly to the regions to help the party.
“Then at the national work meeting, he also said: ‘I will work as hard as possible and I can still afford to go to the district/city, to the sub-district’, that’s true,” he said.
Regarding Jokowi’s planned visit to a number of PSI DPOs, Bestari said that this was not part of his preparations for the position of Chairman of the PSI Advisory Council. However, in order to respond to the community’s invitation.
