North Sumatra Police Prepare Multi-Level Security and Ensure Indonesia-Vietnam Match Will Be Held Safely
TERITORIAL24.COM, MEDAN – The atmosphere of international football has enveloped North Sumatra again. Ahead of the prestigious match between the Indonesian U-19 national team and Vietnam at the 2026 ASEAN U-19 Men’s Championship, security forces increased security throughout the North Sumatra Main Stadium area on Sunday evening (7/6/2026).
Thousands of fans are expected to fill the stadium to show direct support for Garuda Muda. The North Sumatra Regional Police responded seriously to the great enthusiasm of the community by preparing a multi-level security model involving various security elements and related agencies.
This integrated security involved personnel from the North Sumatra Police, North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Unit, Medan Police, Deli Serdang Police, TNI, Transportation Department and elements of the match organizers.
The focus of security is not limited to the interior of the stadium, but also includes arrival routes of VVIP and VIP guests, parking areas, spectator entrances, as well as traffic management around the venue.

“Security is provided in an integrated and multi-layered manner to ensure the safety of the entire series of activities of the ASEAN U-19 Men’s Championship 2026. We ensure that the players, officials, guests and public in attendance can watch the match safely and comfortably,” he said.
According to Ferry, the Indonesia-Vietnam match was one of the matches that received special attention.
As well as attracting thousands of spectators, the match is also expected to be attended by a number of important national and regional officials.
According to information from the organizing committee, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. H. Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo are expected to attend the match.
Apart from this, the Governor of North Sumatra, elements of the North Sumatra Forkopimda and a number of other guests are also expected to host the match.
