PTI leaders’ failure to meet Imran Khan poses problems, says Salman Akram Raja

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has acknowledged internal turmoil within the party, attributing the situation to the leaders’ failure to meet the party’s founder, jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan and receive his advice.

Speaking to the media at Adiala Road, lawyer Salman Akram Raja confirmed that there was chaos within the party, saying the leadership was unable to get instructions due to prolonged absence of meetings with the PTI founder.

Commenting on reports of a planned meeting with the founder’s sister that did not take place despite an agreement, Salman Akram Raja said questions on the matter should be directed to the family. He added that he did not wish to comment on the family’s position. He said it was entirely up to the family whether they wanted to gather collectively or individually, describing it as their personal decision.

The PTI leader said the party leadership remained under pressure because it was unable to meet the founder or receive fresh guidance. He claimed that no meeting had been held for eight months and the last message received from the PTI founder was regarding the rally scheduled for April 9.

Salman Akram Raja reiterated that the party leadership wanted to meet the PTI founder to seek instructions and move forward according to his advice.
