Young politician Rohil Muhammad Maliki joins PSI, confident the party will enter the top four
ROKANHILIR, celotehriau.com–Young politician Muhammad Maliki has decided to join the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), before the next elections in 2029, he is leaving his former party Nasdem.
Maliki, who is also a young doctor from Rokan Hilir, was previously known as an activist cadre of Riau Nasdem, having run several times in the DPR RI parliamentary elections.
This politician, who is also a young entrepreneur, admitted to having chosen the PSI after leaving his former party Nasdem for two years and after a long reflection.
“God willing, after thinking long and hard for 2 years after leaving Nasdem in 2024, we have now opted for PSI,” Maliki said, Monday (6/7/2026).
According to Maliki, his membership in the PSI was influenced by a number of important factors in his political career.
“My three mentors at Nasdem who have currently joined PSI are Rusdi Masse Mappasessu (RMS), Ahmad Ali and Sri Sajekti Sudjunadi/Jennet,” Maliki said.
So he decided to join the party created by Kaesang and the Solo family, so the most important factor was Joko Widodo or Jokowi, who is currently in PSI.
“My father is a fanatical fan of Jokowi, here in this party we are respected and well received,” Maliki said. He also believes that the current PSI is different from the previous PSI, especially now that there is Jokowi.
“The previous PSI and the PSI with Mr. Jokowi are different, we are sure that the PSI will become one of the top four parties in Parliament,” he stressed.
Maliki’s joining the PSI adds to the list of foreign politicians joining the PSI in Riau province, after the current PDW chairman of the PSI, Kelmi Amri, also joined after leaving the Democrats.
According to internal information, it is clear that many more politicians will join the PSI before the next elections in 2029 in Riau province. (TRIS)
