Jakarta, Nokenlive.com – President Joko Widodo has asked his subordinates and regional leaders not to rush to decide to close their territory to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“Again, don’t rush to close an area, close a town, close a regency, and if we work on the database, the response steps will run more efficiently and can immediately resolve issues on the ground. “said the president. Joko Widodo at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (9/14/2020).

President Jokowi shared this in a limited “video conference” meeting on “Report of the Committee on COVID-19 Management and National Economic Recovery,” which was attended by Cabinet ministers Forward Indonesia.

“Local-based intervention strategies, intervention strategies for limitation at the local level are very important to do, whether it is the management of interventions at the local level or at the community level”, a declared the president.

President Jokowi also recalled that decisions taken to respond to additional cases in provinces, districts or cities should be based on distribution data.

“I have told you several times, apply intervention strategies at the local level, strategies of limitation at the local level, at the RT, RW, village level, at the village level so that the manipulation is more detailed. and can be more targeted ”, added the President.

According to President Jokowi, in a province there could be 20 regencies / cities, not all of which are in the red zone, so the treatment should not be generalized.

“In a city or a district, it is the same thing, all the urban villages, not all the villages, all the sub-districts do not also live the same thing, everything is red. Some are green, some require different treatments and treatments, ”said the president.

President Jokowi also called for the management of the management of local transport clusters to be improved.

“Especially in 8 provinces which have become priorities that I have been promoting for 2 months”, added the president.

The 8 provinces mentioned by President Jokowi are DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Sulawesi, South Kalimantan and Papua.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to re-impose the PSBB in Jakarta from September 14, 2020 for the next two weeks as an “emergency brake” mechanism.

The reason Anies made this decision was due to three indicators, namely the death rate, the availability of isolation beds and the special intensive care unit for COVID-19 and the rate of positive cases in Jakarta.

However, in the PSBB there are still 11 lines of business that can operate by implementing health protocols and limiting employee capacity to a maximum of 50 percent. During this time, non-essential activities or private offices can operate by limiting a maximum of 25 percent of employees to be in the workplace at the same time.

Schools and educational establishments, tourist and recreation areas, city parks, public sports facilities and wedding reception venues have been completely closed.

During this time, places of worship in residential areas used by local residents can operate. Meanwhile, markets and malls can operate with a capacity of up to 50% of visitors in one location simultaneously, while restaurants, eateries and cafes can only receive take-out messages.
