Amaravati farmers write letter to PM Modi

Published

on

The woes of Amaravati farmers continue as the AP state government accelerates the process of relocating its capital to Visakhapatnam. Along with Minister Kodail Nani’s declaration to even displace Amaravati’s legislative capital, this has even added to the woes of farmers and uncertainty around Amaravati.

As there is no relief for the besieged farmers of Amaravati who offered their land to the previous state government through the Land Pooling System (LPS), as a last attempt, the farmers and Amaravati women wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Seeking PM Modi’s intervention on Amaravati and remembering that he was part of Amaravati’s Bhumi Pooja, the farmers called on the PM to make a statement on Amaravati in Parliament during the current monsoon session. The farmers urged Modi to make a statement in favor of Amaravati as the capital.

In the letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the farmers alleged that the state government was “harassing” them in the name of investigations by SIT, CID and the subcommittee on farmers selling their land. The farmers alleged that there was a larger conspiracy behind the government’s “insider trading” claims. The farmers alleged that the current state government was failing to honor the agreement between the farmers and the previous government.

Amaravati farmers allege that land purchased from Kadapa in the name of CM Jagan’s daughter is also “insider trading”. The farmers went on to claim that the state government was engaged in “one-to-one trading” in the name of distributing land. The farmers alleged that the state government hijacks the whole issue of “ongoing corruption in the distribution of land” and, therefore, “characterizes the corruption” of the Amaravati farmers. The farmers appealed to Prime Minister Modi to get the government to set up a subcommittee on Amravati with the very people who oppose Amaravati as the capital. The farmers demanded justice and called on PM Modi to step in and make a statement in favor of farmers in Parliament.

Meanwhile, the state’s BJP leaders are silent on the letter from Amaravati farmers to the prime minister. While the Center has made its position clear on Amaravati and 3 capitals and even the YSRCP has extended its support for NDA to Rajya Sabha and supported NDA candidate Harivansh for the post of Vice President of Rajya Sabha, it seems, PM Modi could remain silent on the issue.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
