Tower 4 is prepared, Tower 5 Wisma Atlet is operating to treat symptom-free Covid-19 patients
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Head of the Handling Task Force Covid-19 Doni Monardo said he was designing towers 4 and 5 athlete property so that it can be used to treat Covid-19 patients.
“We are designing towers 4 and 5, which for a few months have not been functional, we are starting to activate them,” Doni said in a chat titled Policy guidelines for managing the Covid-19 pandemic, Wednesday (9/16/2020).
Doni said that currently Tower 4 cannot be used, while Tower 5 has started to operate.

“Tower 5 was open from overnight (12/09/2020), until this morning I received a report indicating that there were 651 new patients with otg (people without symptoms)”, Doni said.
Doni added that currently the Athletes’ Guest House still has Tower 6 and Tower 7 which can be used with over 1,300 beds.
In addition, there are towers 8 and 9 specifically for receiving Indonesian citizens who have returned from several countries, and tens of thousands have already returned.
In accordance with the instructions of President Joko Widodo, Doni said, so that no one is taken care of in their homes anymore.
“Especially homes that are not suitable for independent isolation, medically do not meet requirements such as not being able to maintain a distance,” Doni said.
“Therefore, the government has collaborated with the Indonesian Hotel Association, then also with elements of the state, including TNI-Polri, with eight provinces in need of hospitals and hotels 2 and 3 stars to serve our people who have positive Covid status but without symptoms, ”he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo had confirmed that the Covid-19 emergency hospital was at Wisma athlete still have sufficient capacity.
