Raja Kalasya Karnam the timeless wisdom that Bheeshma Pitamah imparted to Yudhisthir in the Shanti parv Mahabharat may seem esoteric to the mind, but it carries a message. This means that a ruler is never a slave to circumstances, but creates them by his actions. India’s sad history since independence has been one of lackluster leadership pushing the nation into lawlessness, insecurity, social disharmony, crisis of faith and the unavailability of the grassroots. If this was the internal condition, on the global platform, the country has failed to garner respect from its peers. Fortunately, these circumstances are now relegated to the past and a new India has emerged. In six years, our illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made India a nation to be reckoned with.

Since independence, leaders have continued to talk about the last man on the back row, but it is only now that the fruits of welfare and infrastructure efforts have actually reached the common man. The unique journey from Antyodaya to Rashtrodaya was made possible by the pure compassionate personality of Modiji, who understood the ethics, mentality and feelings of the masses and linked them to nationalism. It was indeed an example of the channeling of power from the masses towards nation building.

The Prime Minister united the poor, young people, farmers and women in one unit and supported Sabka Saath’s slogan, Sabka Vishwas. Whether it is Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao or the Ujjwala Yojana, social protection programs have been created to benefit the last man in the line and to instill in women a sense of pride and empowerment. How to forget the abolition of the triple talaq. With this unique act, the Prime Minister, on behalf of the nation, honored women and restored their fundamental rights.

Over the past six years, a series of social protection schemes have been introduced to establish a new regime of social justice and public welfare. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was one of these projects, through which the government subsidized houses for the poor and the oppressed about three crore houses were built. Up to four crore families have benefited from the ambitious Har Ghar Bijli program. Eight crore gas connections under PM Ujjwala Yojana were distributed to women below the poverty line. It was the first time anyone had thought of saving women from carbon-induced diseases. No less than 12 crore was honored by Prime Minister Kisan Samman Yojana, over 23 crore was linked to the Mudra Yojana loan and 50 crore benefited from Ayushman Yojana.

The PM Crop Scheme, PM Agriculture Irrigation Scheme, MSP, Kisan Samman Nidhi have brought comfort to farmers, who had been neglected for years. He galvanized the youth of this country and made them empowered and self-sufficient by launching Skill India, Stand Up India, Start Up India, Make In India and Mudra Yojana, which also gave the country an economic boost.

The Prime Minister’s sustained efforts have led our great country to re-establish its mythological, cultural and spiritual traditions. India received worldwide recognition through Namami Ganges, Vishwa Yoga Day, the laying of the foundation stone of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya and the conduct of a great Prayag Kumbh. It took a superhuman effort for Modi to get yoga recognized by the United Nations, which declared June 21 International Yoga Day. More than 200 countries now follow this great cultural and spiritual tradition of our country. More than 24 crore devotees experienced the religious and spiritual greatness of Prayag Kumbh. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, he turned out to be Divya Kumbh Bhavya Kumbh, which caused UNESCO to label him as Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

The country has faced security challenges for several decades. The Prime Minister thwarted all these challenges and laid the groundwork for a powerful Bharat. With the Look East policy, the PM brought infrastructural benefits to the Northeast and through the Act East policy, the region could reap the benefits of proximity to East Asia. Sections 370 and 35A which had haunted Indians for decades have been abolished. With this, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the idea of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. In the northeast and Kashmir there is now an atmosphere of peace and harmony and people have become development oriented.

In international relations, the Prime Minister took friendship with his friends to new heights, while enemies received a strong message. While keeping the country’s sovereignty and security at the center of attention, the Prime Minister has given due importance to dialogue, compassion, cooperation, activity and partnership in foreign policy. The neighboring country against which we carried out a surgical and airstrike in retaliation, cannot even dare to look at us. At this point, the US superpower sees India as its strategic partner and Europe wants to establish economic and defense cooperation with us.

It is the good fortune of Uttar Pradesh that Kashi, the ancient city of Baba Vishwanath, is represented in Parliament by the Prime Minister. Over the past six years, Modi has called Kashi My Kashi, who has done a lot to bring new dimensions to his culture and spirituality. Kashi ghats, temples, and most importantly Baba Vishwanath Dham are the symbol of the prime minister’s personality and work. His keen eye for detail and his constant monitoring of development projects in Kashi are a source of inspiration. The way he interacts with stand employees of social, cultural, spiritual and business organizations sends a positive message.

I find myself blessed to have a leader, mentor and guide in our beloved PM Modi, a person with unconditional righteousness, an unquestionable sense of service to humanity and an overwhelming sensitivity. I pray to Shri Ram that Modiji will continue to honor our lives forever.
