Spokesperson Jokowi: President sets up a health scandal!
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has confirmed that he will apply large-scale social restrictions with health violations based on the conditions that occurred when the spread of Covid-19 started.
This was confirmed by spokesman for President Fadjroel Rachman via his official Instagram and Twitter account, cited by CNBC Indonesia, Monday (3/30/2020). Fadjroel said the situation would be imposed if the situation got worse.
“President @jokowi defines a new stage in the war against Covid-19, namely: LARGE-SCALE SOCIAL LIMITATION with RELIABILITY FOR HEALTH. Only if conditions deteriorate can lead to a civil emergency,” said Fadjroel .
So far, Indonesia has not officially implemented a lockdown. Some regions have initiatives to do partial closings, but the central government always chooses social appeal / physical distance to reduce the spread of the virus.
Jokowi had previously insisted that he did not want a foreclosure in Indonesia. According to the head of state, the foreclosure is not necessary because the Indonesian culture is different from other countries that pursue similar policies.
