WASHINGTON (AP) The latest news on the presidential campaign (still local):

7:55 p.m.

President Donald Trump says he could be the world’s greatest fundraiser, but he doesn’t want to work or do things in return for his donors.

Trump told thousands of supporters at a rally in Macon, Georgia on Friday that he could easily get multi-million dollar donations from Wall Street business leaders.

But he says he must then do things for them in return.

The president spoke after his campaign released new figures suggesting he is likely the first president to face financial disadvantage in the modern age.

The Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee and associated groups raised $ 247 million in September. That’s well below the $ 383 million his Democratic opponent Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee reported last month.

Trump said he has $ 251.4 million in the bank, compared to $ 432 million in Bidens.

Michigan Senator Gary Peters plays Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden as a savior of the American auto industry.

The senator, who faces his own tough re-election campaign, was among the warm-up speakers at a Biden campaign rally on Friday at the Michigan State Fairgrounds.

Peters says Michigan should thank President Obama and Vice President Biden for their roles in rescuing automakers after the 2008 financial collapse.

The senator said Biden has been with us in the past and will join us in the future.

The GM and Chrysler bailout was authorized by President George W. Bush after Obama and Biden won the 2008 election, but before they took office. The Obama administration executed the bailout program.

President Donald Trump predicts a red wave of Republican voting in Florida.

Most polls show a close race in the important battlefield state that outgoing Republican and Democrat Joe Biden are heavily courting.

Addressing a campaign rally Friday in Ocala, Trump reminded thousands of supporters that I live here too. He recently changed his legal residence from New York.

The president noted that early voting in Florida begins Monday. He said in 18 days he was going to Florida state. Were going to the White House. Trump won Florida in 2016.

Trump predicted a red wave of the Republican vote, like they’ve never seen before.

Joe Biden is warning Michigan voters that President Donald Trump wants to take health insurance away from tens of millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions.

Campaigning outside Detroit on Friday, the Democratic candidate said Trump promises to protect insurance eligibility for all Americans, but actually wants to scrap the 2010 Affordable Care Act. This law first established a federal standard that requires insurers to offer health insurance to clients regardless of their medical history.

Biden says Trump can only see from his Manhattan apartment and doesn’t see most Americans fighting on a daily basis.

A 2017 Department of Health and Human Services study found that up to 133 million Americans could be defined as having a pre-existing condition by standard insurers used before the 2010 law.

Biden noted that the number could increase as a result of the pandemic. Some patients recovering from COVID-19 have been found with persistent damage to the lungs, heart or other organs.

4:20 p.m.

Joe Biden mocks President Donald Trump for suggesting in a town hall Thursday that the United States has turned the corner in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden said during his campaign in Southfield, Michigan on Friday that the virus was not going away and was on the rise again.

The Democratic candidate noted a rise in COVID-19 in many states and said Trump put the United States on track to have more coronavirus deaths than combat deaths in World War II.

Biden said Trump is putting his supporters in such danger by organizing mass rallies where masks are not needed. Biden had removed his own mask to speak on Friday. But he spoke in front of a small, masked crowd spread across the floor of a community center gymnasium.

He asked them to remember that Trump repeatedly made fun of Biden wearing a mask.

Biden built much of his general election argument around criticism that Trump messed up the pandemic and its economic fallout, resulting in more deaths and job losses.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden praises Michigan’s top Democrats as he tries to roll the state back from its presidential victory column.

Biden praised Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Friday as one of the best governors in the country and said she stood tall and tall. He again criticized President Donald Trump for failing to explicitly condemn white supremacists and far-right anarchists like the group recently arrested for plotting to kidnap Whitmer.

The former vice president also praised Sen. Gary Peters as the Democrat faces a daunting challenge from Republican John James. Democrats can’t afford to lose Peters’ seat if they hope to have a Senate majority in January.

Biden called Peters a go-to lawmaker in the Obama administration when Biden was vice president.

The Joe Bidens campaign says the former vice president and his running mate Kamala Harris each tested negative for COVID-19 on Friday.

The tests come a day after the campaign confirmed that three people linked to the campaign had tested positive, including Harris’ communications director Liz Allen.

As a precaution, Harris suspended his campaign in person over the weekend, but plans to return on Monday. Biden continues to campaign, with two stops Friday in Michigan.

Campaign medical advisers said none of those who tested positive were ever close enough to Biden to directly expose him to the virus.

2:40 p.m.

President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden will face questions about the coronavirus, racial issues and climate change during the final presidential debate next week.

NBC moderator Kristen Welker posted the six debate topics on Friday through the Non-Partisan Committee on Presidential Debates. They are fighting COVID-19, American families, race in America, climate change, national security and leadership.

Trump and Biden will take the stage together for 90 minutes on Oct. 22 in Nashville, three weeks after their first meeting in Cleveland.

A second outing scheduled for Oct. 15 has been canceled after the Trumps coronavirus diagnosis and his refusal to participate in a virtual debate. Trump and Biden held town halls on different networks at the same time.

President Donald Trump says he is moving heaven and earth to protect the elderly from coronavirus.

Trump is making a direct appeal to older voters during an appearance Friday in Fort Myers, Florida. Polls have shown that support for Trumps among that voting bloc has plummeted in part because of his uneven handling of the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed more people in the United States than in any other country. The elderly are among the groups most vulnerable to the COVID-19 disease it causes.

Trump says in the speech: I will protect you, I will defend you, and I will fight for you with every ounce of energy and conviction I have.

The president also assures seniors that they will be the first to receive a vaccine when it is approved. He adds that he will provide them with free treatments like the ones he received.

Trump recently recovered from COVID-19 and spent three days in the hospital.
