Pakistan could be a country conducive to medical tourism, says foreign minister

PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Minister of Information, Shaukat Yousafzai, said that Pakistan is potentially a suitable country for medical tourism as it has qualified doctors of international renown.

"In the past, as a former Minister of Health, I did my best to create an international salon in hospitals, where patients had doctors and full facilities," said expressed as chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 36th international day of gastroenterology organized by Professor Aamir Ghafoor Khan LRH and Dr. Bakht Biland with the chapter team PSG-KP.

The minister said the peace agreement between the United States and the Taliban would significantly improve medical tourism in Pakistan, saying that holding such international conferences would give young doctors the opportunity to learn.

The conference was co-organized by the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh and the President of the College, Professor Derek Bell OBE and his team also attended.

The KP section hosted the conference at KP after an interval of 15 years and around 40 foreign professors from around the world participated in the conference. The President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi, was the main guest of the inaugural session. Senator Dr Mehr Taj was awarded a lifetime award during the conference.

Shaukat Yousafzai added that Pakistan would benefit greatly from the Taliban-United States peace agreement and that medical tourism would also develop here. He argued that this peace agreement was a success in Pakistan's foreign policy because Prime Minister Imran Khan had said from the start that the Afghan question should be resolved through dialogue between the Taliban and the United States. ;America.

He said that this region has experienced considerable difficulties due to terrorism and that this peace agreement would pave the way for Pakistan via Afghanistan to trade with Central Asia, which will strengthen the economy of Pakistan and will provide employment opportunities to the people.

Yousafzai thanked the organizers and the foreign teachers for organizing a successful conference. The foreign faculty appreciated the high scientific content of the conference and praised the hospitality of the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

KP government criticized for ignoring

public promises

Chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP), Muhammad Faiq Shah, criticized the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for deviating from its promises made to people in the last election.

Faiq Shah, while chairing a review meeting of the provincial government, said that whatever initiatives were taken during the regime led by two ITPs at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which were clearly visible to everyone. He observed major development projects such as Bus Rapid Transport Peshawar, the Billion Tree tsunami project, etc.

He promised that ATP would provide an alternative and functional system to people.
