CONTROVERSIAL MP Shaoquett Moselmane has resigned from his post as deputy chairman of the New South Wales Legislative Council following his contentious comments from the pro-Chinese government regarding the COVID-19 epidemic.
Labor MP Moselmane has long disagreed with the Jewish community.
In 2018, he banned New South Wales Jewish Council of Jewish Deputies (JBOD) CEO Vic Alhadeff from participating in a multicultural union event and tweeted a link to an article on the website of the famous and former anti-Semite great wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke.
He also participated in a rally where Hezbollah flags floated openly and welcomed the controversial University of Sydney scholar Tim Anderson to Parliament.
On April 6, Moselmanes resigned from his post as deputy president after publicly defending Chinese President Xi Jinping in the face of the coronavirus crisis.
His party and parliamentary colleague Walt Secord, who in 2013 raised three points of order in a speech he described as a simple anti-Israeli rant of Moselmane, welcomed his resignation.
Secord, the New South Wales ghost treasurer and vice president of the New South Wales Parliamentary Friends, called Moselmane’s Chinese speech extremely stupid and said it was part of a scheme bizarre and long defense of China and attack on Israel.
We have clashed repeatedly with Israel and China and I am glad he has resigned from the post of deputy president, he said.
Alhadeff said The AJNIn addition to his offensive remarks about China’s role in the pandemic, Moselmane has taken deeply problematic views of Israel and our community over the years, drawing an analogy between Israel and Nazi Germany, and refusing entry to the CEO of the Council of Deputies at the launch of a multicultural Labor group.
His yellowed opinions on such matters have misrepresented too many NSW Labor members for too long, and we do not think many will shed a tear for this development.
Moselmane, who took office in May of last year, remains a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
