The 2020 Jokowi state budget regulation is considered unconstitutional by PKS
Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Aboebakar Alhabsyi, member of the PKS faction’s DPR Commission III, criticized the policies of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi, who issued a presidential settlement (Perpres) Issue 54 of 2020 regarding changes in posture and details of the 2020 state budget due to an epidemic Corona virus (Covid-19).

In this regard, Aboebakar suggested that the palace’s legal experts re-read article 23, paragraph 2, of the 1945 Constitution, which states that the state budget was planned by the president and discussed with the DPR.
“In addition to article 23, paragraph 1, it is said that the state budget was determined by law, not Perpres,” Aboebakar said in written statements on Saturday (04/11/2020).
Palace legal experts, said Aboebakar, should be able to make a good contribution to the president. Thus, the measures taken are not unconstitutional. “I am very sorry that this president was invited to publish a presidential regulation for the state budget,” he said.
According to the President of the DPR Honorary Court, the legislature understood that the government had to work quickly to treat Corona. The DPR also said it was ready to speed up the budget discussion.
