The whole country of Pakistan entered a jubilant mood on Wednesday after Pakistani prime minister and former captain Imran Khan won in a Twitter poll conducted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to decide who is the greatest player as captain.
The ICC had conducted a poll on the microblogging site Twitter on Tuesday to decide who is the best cricketer as a captain. The ICC poll included three legendary players and a Pakistani cricketer. The three legends included in the poll were Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli, South Africa captain AB de Villiers, Australian cricket team skipper Meg Lanning. Former Pakistan captain and current Prime Minister Imran Khan was also included in the ICC poll.
Even though Indian skipper Virat Kohli was well ahead in the polls until the final stages, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who during his days played cricket, came out on top after patriotic Pakistanis stepped in by thousands to vote for Imran. Khan to save him from yet another international humiliation.
Funnily enough, after Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan won in a Twitter poll, Pakistanis are now rejoicing in the victory and national celebrations have started to cheer their beloved Prime Minister Imran Khan on.
Interestingly, Imran Khan’s victory in a Twitter poll has now taken a political turn after Imran Khan’s political party Tehreek-e-Insaf ‘took to Twitter to portray him as a kind of political victory for Prime Minister Khan and claimed that “Once a leader, always a leader”.
The victory celebrations did not end there. Zartaj Gul Wazir, Minister of State for Climate Change, did not miss the opportunity to celebrate Prime Minister Imran Khan’s victory in the Twitter poll. She said Imran Khan was the greatest cricketer and skipper to emerge from the subcontinent.
Several high-profile Pakistanis also took to Twitter to celebrate Imran Khan’s “ majestic ” achievement in winning a Twitter poll conducted by the ICC.
Not just the Pakistani establishment, even the Pakistani media encouraged the victory of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in a Twitter poll.

It is relevant to note that the Pakistani media had previously run a campaign to influence the Twitter poll so that former Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan, who is now the country’s prime minister, did not lose in the poll against the captain of the Indian cricket team Virat Kohli. Pakistani TV stations have reportedly urged people to vote for their prime minister.
Indian Muslims and Opposition Party Members Join Pakistani Robots to Secure Imran Khan’s Victory
Earlier today, former Pakistani captain Imran Khan won a Twitter poll conducted by ICC to decide who was the best player as captain. After more than 5.00,000 votes cast, the poll went to a biting finish between Virat Kohli and Imran Khan. In the end, with massive support from the Pakistani state and its nationwide media campaign, surprisingly fair for a Twitter poll, the former Pakistani captain took on a slender leader to emerge victorious in the ICC poll.
In the poll, Virat Kohli had 46.2 percent of the vote while Imran Khan received 47.3 percent of the total 5.36,346 votes. Meanwhile, AB de Villiers only received seven percent of the vote while Australian women’s team captain Meg Lanning unfortunately only received one percent.
As Imran Khan lagged behind in the early stages, the Pakistani establishment was ignited and resorted to cheap tricks of employing huge state-sponsored social media groups to sway the poll. Soon, the votes started pouring in favor of former Pakistani captain Imran Khan. Pakistani bots and social media users, who may have no idea what voting feels like in real life, enthusiastically voted on a Twitter poll like never before.
It appeared that the inter-service public relations, the propaganda arm of the Pakistani armed forces, did not want their prime minister to humiliatingly lose to the Indians yet again and were organizing votes on Twitter to ensure he won. at least the Twitter poll.
Shockingly, not just Pakistani Twitter accounts and cross-service PR bots, several Indians also voted in favor of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Twitter poll. “ Team Baan, ” which engages in mass-rigging Twitter polls with the help of bots and often resorts to posting abusive social media rants against Hindus and BJP supporters, campaigned without surprise on behalf of Imran Khan and voted for Pakistani Prime Minister Khan in the Twitter poll conducted by the ICC.
