Boris Johnson joined support for a national day of reflection to mark the anniversary of the premiere COVID confinement.

Marie Curie charity plans day of reflection, who will remember all who died from the virus, by March 23.

The date is exactly one year since the government imposed the first nationwide lockdown, telling people to stay home.

The retreat, which is supported by more than 100 healthcare organizations, charities, businesses, emergency services, public sector organizations and community groups, will include a minute of silence at 12 p.m. followed by an audible signal.

People will be encouraged to stand at their doorsteps at 8 p.m. with phones, candles and torches to signify a lighthouse of remembrance, while important buildings and landmarks across the country will also be illuminated.

The day will also see community-led activities, such as virtual assemblies, choirs, services and yellow ribbons wrapped around trees.

A series of free online lectures with experts, bereaved families and celebrities will also take place, hosted by the Good Grief Festival.

The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that 145,647 deaths occurred in the UK on February 26, where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he will observe the noon minutes of silence privately, while Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer, Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Welsh Prime Minister Mark Drakeford are also supporting the day of reflection.

Johnson said: This has been an incredibly difficult year for our country. My thoughts are with all those who have lost loved ones and who have not been able to honor them as they would have liked.

As we continue to make progress against the virus, I want to thank people for the sacrifices they continue to make, and I hope they can look forward to being reunited with their loved ones as restrictions are carefully relaxed.

Marie Curie CEO Matthew Reed said: The past year has been one of the most traumatic and unifying in modern history. With so many of us losing a loved one, our shared sense of loss is incomparable to anything this generation feels.

Many of us have been unable to say goodbye or comfort our grieving family, friends and colleagues. We need to recognize this and recognize that we are not alone.

That is why on March 23 it is important that we all come together to reflect on our collective loss, celebrate the lives of the special people who are no longer here, support those who have been bereaved, and envision a much better future.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
