Johnson takes the opportunity to rebuke the anti-Semitic bullying and discrimination of Labor
(March 6, 2020 / JNS) Prime Minister Boris Johnson criticized a Labor member during a parliamentary session on Wednesday for his anti-Semitic bullying and discrimination against those who support Israel and the Jewish people.
Labor MP Thangam Debbonaire asked Johnson about allegations that Interior Minister Priti Patel intimidated his staff during his 2016-2017 tenure as secretary of international development.
Johnson, who has defended Patel in the past, responded to Debbonaire, I hate bullying, but I take no lessons from a party that has presided over systematic bullying and discrimination against those who defend the Jewish community and Israel in this country.
And we still haven't heard an appropriate apology from the Labor Party (or) from the Labor leadership for what they did, he added.
Last month, the Labor Party expelled 25 members in one day for allegations of anti-Semitism.
Several Labor Party members quit the party last year and criticized its leader, Jeremy Corbyn, for allowing anti-Semitism to mount the party under his leadership. Corbyn resigned as party leader in December after suffering a crushing defeat against Johnson.
Johnson announced plans in December to pass a law criminalizing the BDS movement.
