The annual charity cricket match is back
Dudley Council staff and councilors will once again be committed to charity at the annual cricket match this month.
A team of officials from the authority will recruit elected members on July 30.
The teams will raise money for the Mayor of Dudleys’ charities – the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Dudley Mind and the Mayor’s Community Fund.
Both teams are eager to leave from 6pm at the War Memorial Ground in High Street, Amblecote.
Councilor Anne Millward, Mayor of Dudley, said:
The annual competition, hosted by councilor Mohammed Hanif, raises hundreds of pounds, but has suffered setbacks due to the pandemic. The Stourbridge Cricket Club makes the grounds and facilities available free of charge.
The teams will play a 20 overs-a-side match and there will also be a raffle after the match.
