Kent Cricket's financial figures for the year until October 2019 show a loss for the first time in three years

Financial figures for Kent County cricket clubs saw the club record a loss for the first time in three years.

Figures for the year ending October 31, 2019 were released on Monday and show a surplus in EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes and depreciation) of 2,177,754.

After interest, amortization and the net impact of other items, the deficit for the year after tax is 201,932, although the club insists that it is in line with expectations, with sales of club reaching 4.77 million.

It is the first time that Kents' figures show a loss since they showed an EBITDA loss of 65,835 for the year ending in 2016.

But seven Vitality Blast T20 home games generated 150,000 for the club, although two of their games were severely affected by bad weather, with improvements in the customer experience resulting in a substantial increase in food and drinks these evenings.

Kent Cricket Managing Director Simon Storey said: Achieving financial sustainability, while investing in our core cricket business, will be the cornerstone of Kent Crickets strategy in the years to come.

To achieve this, the club must further increase its revenues through a diverse business model, continue to raise standards in all areas of the business and, at the same time, carefully manage our cost base.

2019 has been a year of progress on all of these fronts.

In 2019, the club also hosted Pakistan in a one-day tourist match, as well as an England-Women-Australia vs Australia-Women match in July and a four-day match between Lions from England and Australia Has the same month.

Clinique Saint-Laurent, Kents' main specialized clinic, saw its turnover increase by 7.5% and its profits by 19% to almost 85,000.

The Club AGM will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday April 6 at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.
