McGrath Shine Takes Down Sturt | SACA South Australian Cricket Association
Tahlia McGraths' brilliant all-round performance helped West Torrens overtake leader, Sturt, in the State First Super First Grade competition.
McGrath scored 45 points on Sunday and went on to a career record 6/37, combining with Amanda-Jade Wellington (3/29) to dismantle the Blues' battering lineup.
Caroline Ward completed McGrath with a patient of 27 and the Eagles reached an arguable score of 147.
Brooke Harris was a star for Sturt, taking 3/24 and scoring for his team with 31, but the Blues were all out for 119 in response.
The Southern District achieved a miraculous victory over the Northern Districts by defending a round with a low score.
The Stingrays struggled to start with the bat, with only Sheridan Howell (15) and Donna Clark (11) able to double the numbers.
Sophie Roberts (3/9) and first-year debutant Emily Laird (3/22) both had three wickets for the northern districts and the Stingrays were fired for only 81.
In response, Tegan McPharlin (15) was the best with the bat, but Hannah Sampson (4/14) and Kelly Armstrong (3/27) cast stunning spells, suppressing the Jets' batting lineup for a 61 stingy.
