Organizers of the now canceled World Women's Hockey Championship say those who bought tickets have options.
On Saturday, the IIHF canceled the tournament – which was scheduled to start on March 31 – due to concerns over the spread of the new coronavirus.
Halifax and Truro will now host the 2021 IIHF Women's Ice Hockey World Championship and event general manager Grant MacDonald said tickets already sold could be used year-round next.
"We honor all tickets purchased for the 2020 event," he said. "Once we have confirmed the dates for 2021, all of these buyers will be able to transfer their tickets until 2021."
Those who can no longer use their tickets also have options.
"If individuals have specific requirements regarding the purchase of their tickets, they can contact Hockey Canada at [email protected] and our ticketing service can meet their needs," said MacDonald.
He said everyone involved in the tournament was disappointed with its cancellation this year, but they are looking forward to 2021.
