2 Husker soccer players join the Nebraska basketball team before the Big Ten tournament
Two Nebraska football players will change their cleats for basketball sneakers before the NCAA Big Ten tournament. The Nebraska Athletics Department announced Tuesday that Brant Banks and Noah Vedral are now part of the men's basketball team coach Fred Hoiberg. Both players will join the team in the Big Ten Tournament which begins on Wednesday. The changes follow Hoiberg announcing indefinite suspensions for Cam Mack and Dachon Burke. Vedral and Banks both played basketball in high school. Vedral averaged 13.6 points per game as a senior, leading Bishop Nuemann High School to consecutive state titles. Banks have averaged 11.5 points per game as a junior. He joined UNL in his final year and did not play in what would have been his high school basketball season.
