QUOTES AFTER THE MATCH
TEXAS A&M QUOTES
head coach Mark Weaver
On beating Vanderbilt for the third time

“Beating a team three times in a year is definitely a tough one. I was happy to play against Vanderbilt. It was a team we knew. They clearly knew our games and we knew theirs too. We had a good game plan in place. every job and we felt good in all games. The Vanderbilt coach has done a great job all season.”

On the program to the National Quarter-finals

“We had high hopes for the season, but I don’t think anyone would have thought we would be 33-1 now. We thought we could win the conference and we certainly thought we had a shot at a national title.” to win.” , but to be in the position we have now is great. Our mission all year has been to win the national title. We used that California race as fuel for the season and it just made us stronger. †

on Carson Branstine decide the match

“I was happy for Carson out there. She had a hard time against Baylor last week, so it was nice for her to grab that clinch today. There’s nothing like a good clinch win to make you feel good about yourself. We “Needed everyone today. It’s going to be a fine line in the future with Oklahoma, so we need to make all the girls feel good about themselves. There’s no reason they shouldn’t.”

On the support of the 12th Man

“It was a great crowd. I was a little concerned about the turnout given the heat, graduation and our baseball team doing so well. It was a great crowd, and I just told the girls in the locker room I was getting shivers down my spine when I saw that everyone gradually started to walk in during the game It’s a great feeling to hear the crowd roar and cheer for the girls because I’m Aggie myself it’s a great feeling It’s a shame we can’t Our audience won’t be able to play at home this season, but it sounds like quite a few are going to make the trip to Illinois, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Junior Carson Branstine
About playing Vanderbilt’s Anna Ross for the third time

It was definitely the best game I’ve played against her. She really raised her level today and was ready to play every point to make it a very difficult game for me. I felt relaxed all the time, even if it didn’t always seem that way. I was ready to go out and be there for as long as it took to get the win.”

About getting the match for the team

“I definitely embraced it. I like that kind of thing and that kind of pressure. It’s positive pressure and makes me want to fight even harder for my game and my team. It was exciting. I haven’t been able to get much from clinches this season because my teammates are winning so fast and doing so great. It was fun today. I’m glad I was able to do that.”

On the support of the 12th man

“It was so special. It was the last home game of the season and I’m new to this. I’m new to the 12th man. I see the crowd and how locked in they are in my game and how much they want you. It’s good doing is really special. You don’t get that in any other program, especially tennis. After I won, I wanted to turn around and cheer with them, because without them we couldn’t be here today.”

VANDERBILT QUOTES
Head Coach Aleke Tsoubanos
On Vanderbilt’s fight Saturday

“First of all, congratulations to Texas A&M. I give them a lot of credit. They played a very good game today and showed why they were the best team in the SEC this year. I am very proud of the way our team has competed and worn this post season. We took on the best in the league and just came up short with super competitive doubles on 1 and 2 and chances in 4 out of 6 singles everywhere. The amount of improvement this group has made from early March to now is remarkable There are so many great teams in college tennis and we finished the season in the last 16.”
