Royals Ryan OHearn and Brad Keller both test positive for COVID-19 | Kansas City Royals
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) Two more Royals players have tested positive for the corona virus.
The Kansas City Royals announced on Tuesday that righthanded pitcher Brad Keller and first baseman Ryan OHearn both tested positive for COVID-19.
Both players released a statement after allowing the club to announce that positive test.
Of course, I was devastated when I heard the news from Nick Kenney (Head Athletic Trainer) that I had two positive tests, Keller said. I was sent home yesterday hoping the first test was false positive, but I was told today that the second test came back positive and I have to go into isolation. I experience small symptoms that remind me more of an allergy attack. Furthermore, I feel great and have no other symptoms, including no cough or fever. I will follow the instructions of our training staff and hope to train with the club again as soon as possible. I would encourage everyone to stay safe, Keller said.
I was clearly shocked when I got the news that my test was positive, OHearn said. I am asymptomatic and feel good physically. It was a very hard summer waiting for the start of the season and to have such a setback, albeit hopefully short, just makes me much hungrier. Although I need to be in quarantine, I plan to continue training and leading our medical team as much as possible until I am ready to rejoin my teammates. If this could happen to me, it could happen to anyone, so it’s really important that everyone be aware of their environment and not assume you’re not vulnerable because everyone is, OHearn said.
On Saturday, Salvador Perez tested positive for the virus.
