UMD hockey returns to limited, socially distant voluntary training
Duluth, Minn. – UMD athletics started the process of allow student athletes back on campus on Monday. About 100 student athletes are moving this week
With, of course, a lot of restrictions and safety protocols. The UMD men’s hockey team was in limited voluntary practice earlier today. To be cleared, athletes must complete a daily symptom questionnaire through an online app.
Individuals must wear face covers / masks, take physical distance, clean their hands regularly, and be on campus only during their designated training time.
Athletes are also screened for their temperature before scheduled workouts begin, nor is there access to locker rooms, showers or player lounges.
With 100 students moving in, many people remain in quarantine. That is inclusive Nick Swaney and Noah Cates that are in their respective place of birth.
“It’s not much different, you have to do some more individual things that I like to do in the summer anyway. But if you were to do a two-on-one exercise, you would be pretty gassed if you go every time, ”said Captain Noah Cates. “It’s been different that way.
