Men’s tennis back home for Sunday game with Charlotte
PHILADELPHIA The University of Pennsylvania, ranked 61 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, returns home on Sunday for the first time in a month to take on Charlotte at the Hamlin/Hecht Tennis Centers.

Then-#53 Penn fell last Sunday in Madison, 6-1 to then-#54 Wisconsin. Kevin Zhu picked up a singles victory over former Quaker Jason Hildebrandt, improving to 6-3 this spring. Zhu and playing partner Edward Graziani remained undefeated in doubles in dual match play (6-0), as their game was abandoned earlier in the day. The Quakers kept it close in singles, with three matches going three sets and two others decided by a first set tiebreaker followed by a 7–5 second set.
Before spring, the Quakers have a 54.8 winning percentage in singles matches, with a 20-9 record from Zhu’s trio, Aditya GuptaAnd Manfredi Graziani.
A taste of Charlotte
The 49ers are 6-9 this season, with a 3-2 home record, but a 1-5 on the road. Penn wraps up an Ivy League weekend for the 49ers, who take on Princeton on Saturday.
In singles, Coy Simon has a 6-5 record this spring, all matches coming in at No. 1. Ivan Dreycopp goes into the weekend 7-7 in double match action, with a 5-4 at No. 4. Matias Iturbe has won his last two games, improving his spring record to 6-6
The doubles teams of Brett Gloria/Aditya Narayanan and Iturbe/Coy Simon are both 2-2, with Iturbe and Simon playing all four matches at number 1.
