Softball Drops Series Final at Dartmouth
HANNOVER, NH The University of Pennsylvania softball team walked Saturday-morning in Dartmouth after re-taking the lead in the seventh inning. The Big Green rallied for a few runs in the bottom of the seventh to complete the walk off victory.
FINAL: Dartmouth 5, Penn 4
The Quakers jumped out to an 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Madi Bauerle led off the game with a four-pitch walk, then scored on a sac-fly double play that ended in an inning.
The Big Green tied the game in the bottom of the first on a solo shot into left field. In the bottom of the third, the same batter hit a 2-run shot to give the home team a 3-1 lead.
The Quakers came back in the top of the fourth inning as Julia Mortimer reached on the choice of a fielder who allowed it Brian Brown scoring from third place.
Kate Reagan reached on an error in the top of the sixth inning that allowed it Jade Montgomery to score from second on the dropped ball in midfield.
Sarah Schneider gave the Quakers a 4-3 lead on an RBI single to the middle in the top of the seventh.
The Big Green scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to complete its three-game sweep.
