Hockeyroos vs China ends in 2-2 draw at Perth Hockey Festival 2024
The The Australian women's hockey team made a strong comeback to secure a 2–2 draw against the People's Republic of China in the second match of the match Perth International Hockey Festival 2024 in Western Australia on Sunday.

China managed to turn the Hockeyroos upside down in the 22nd minute with two quick goals. Zou Meirong opened the scoring on the night before the lead was quickly doubled by her teammate Chen Yang.
Australia, fourth in the world hockey rankings, had to dig deep for a while before staging a comeback in the third quarter.
The Hockeyroos earned a penalty corner in the 35th minute, but three minutes later they managed to pull a goal back thanks to Haye's goal from another penalty corner.
The hosts also started the final quarter on the front foot. The Hockeyroos were able to apply the pressure when Kershaw managed to level the score.
Australia had to fend off a late barrage of attacks from China, including two late penalty corners, to retain the 2–2 draw at home.
It was the third meeting between the two sides this year. China won the first meeting 3-0 before Australia won the reverse fixture 2-0 in the 2023/24 FIH Womens Hockey Pro League in February.
Australia had started their Perth International Festival of Hockey Womens Series 2024 campaign with a 1-0 win over Japan thanks to Mariah Williams' late strike.
The Hockeyroos will take on China again in the Perth International Festival of Hockey series on Wednesday.
