Oregon Football ranks as the No. 1 most impressive facility with looming expansion

The evolution of college football is not only reflected in the game, the conference realignment and its name, image and likeness. It is also reflected in the enormous changes in the facilities.

Oregon currently has the best facilities in all of college football, according to the latest rankings from 247 Sports. The Ducks show no signs of slowing down as Oregon is already planning its next expansion.

Knight made sure the amenities on his front porch at the university's athletic department were top-notch. The Hatfield-Dowlin Complex (Oregon's football facility) was completed in 2013 and introduced self-cleaning lockers, one of Nike's best innovations. Oregon was one of the first programs to include a barbershop in the players' lounge. There is even a 40 meter electronic track with digital sensors on the mezzanine level, one of the few in the world, at the time of installation.

The Ducks unveiled plans for an expansion – A130,000 square feet of indoor practice facility which will also provide space for a renovated players' lounge. Earlier this year, the city of Eugene and the University of Oregon completed negotiations on a land swap that would allow the Ducks to embark on the latest project. While no start date has been specified for construction of the new indoor facility, the agreement states that construction of all university facilities must be completed by December 31, 2029.

Oregon isn't the only Big Ten Conference team that is among the best. Ohio State has the No. 7 best facility, following a $7.8 million renovation recently completed. This facility includes a 42,000-square-foot players' lounge, kitchen and food area. You will also find a barber shop, basketball court and golf simulator to name just a few amenities.

Oregon Athletics Director Rob Mullens recently spoke with John Canzano on the Bald-Faced Truth about the impact of increased demand from Oregon fans but supporters of opposing teams.

Is an expansion of the Autzen Stadium on the horizon? Autzen Stadium currently seats 54,000 people, while the average Big Ten stadium seats more than 71,000 people.
