Field hockey announces 2024 schedule
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. Harvard field hockey, the defending regular-season and tournament champions of the Ivy League, returns to the field this fall for an exciting series of games against teams from across the country, while the Crimson also celebrates its 50th anniversary.e anniversary of the program in 2024.
The 2024 campaign kicks off on Friday, September 6 when the Crimson travel to Williamsburg, Virginia for the season opener against defending Coastal Athletic Association champion William & Mary. The opening weekend concludes on Sunday, September 8, as Harvard prepares to play Atlantic Coast Conference foe Wake Forest.
The following weekend, Harvard will welcome fans to Berylson Family Field Hockey Field for the first time in 2024, while Crimson will host UAlbany on Friday, September 13 with a 4:00 PM start time. Harvard will host UConn on Sunday, September 15, with the game featuring the Huskies starting at 1 p.m.
A three-game road trip begins on Saturday, September 21 in New England, as the Crimson open the Ivy League slate with a game against Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire. The next day, the Crimson heads further north for a game against Vermont on Sunday, September 22. The Crimson close out the road trip with their second Ivy League game of 2024, a showdown against Brown in Providence, RI
Harvard returns to Cambridge on Sunday, September 29, hosting intrastate foe UMass with a 2 p.m. start time. The Crimson return to Ivy League action on Friday, Oct. 4, hosting rival Yale at 5 p.m. The homestand concludes on Sunday, October 6, as the Crimson welcome Boston University for a game at 1 p.m.
On Friday, October 11, Harvard faces a trip to the Empire State, while the Crimson travel to the Big Apple for an Ivy League battle against Columbia. On Sunday, October 13, Harvard will face one of its biggest tests of the year, facing last year's national runner-up, Northwestern.
Another highly anticipated matchup awaits Harvard on Saturday, Oct. 19, when the Crimson hosts Princeton in a rematch of last year's Ivy League Tournament finals. Harvard also welcomes the Cambridge community to the Berlyson Family Field Hockey Field for the program's 50e birthday celebration.
After the game against the Tigers, Harvard heads south to the Quaker State for a few games. The Crimson face Penn on Friday, October 25, followed by a game against St. Joseph's on Sunday, October 27. Harvard hosts Cornell on Saturday, November 2 for the regular season finale.
The postseason begins on Friday, November 8 with the 2024 Ivy League Tournament, while the NCAA Field Hockey Championships begin on Friday, November 15.
