Inter-College sports tournament culminates in GCoE Srinagar
Srinagar, June 12: The 3rd Inter College Volleyball and Table Tennis Tournament (Men/Women) 2024 organized by Ministry of Physical Education, Govt. College of Education (IASE), MA Road, Srinagar from June 10, under the guidance and guidance of the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz, culminated here today.
A total of 38 teams from 14 different Colleges of the Valley along with the constituent and affiliated colleges of Cluster University Srinagar participated. In the volleyball tournament, 11 men's and 8 women's teams participated, while in the table tennis (TT) tournament, a total of 08 men's and 11 women's teams showed their participation with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Dr. Nazir Ahmad Bhat (HOD Education) together with Dr. Mohammad Yasin Pir (Convenor Sports), Prof. Mansoor Ahmad Lone (Co-Chairman) Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Wagi (Staff Secretary), Dr. Irfat Ara, Prof Abdul Gani Kumar, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Malla and Daljeet Kour inaugurated all the events of the tournament on 10-06-2024 (Monday).
During the short opening ceremony, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Bhat (Dean of Student Welfare) attended and emphasized the importance of games and sports in contemporary life.
In the volleyball (men) category, the final match was played between AAAM Degree College Bemina and GDC, Alochi Bagh in which AAAM Degree College, Bemina defeated GDC and Alochi Bagh to lift the volleyball trophy.
In the volleyball (women) category, the last match was played between Govt. Womens College MARoad, Srinagar and SPCollege, Srinagar in which Govt. Womens College MA Road defeated SP College, Srinagar to lift the volleyball trophy.
In the Table Tennis (Men) category, the final match was played between SP College Srinagar and Gandhi College, Srinagar in which SP College Srinagar defeated Gandhi College, Srinagar to lift the Table Tennis Trophy.
In the Table Tennis (Women) category, the final match was played between GCET, Safapora and Amar Singh College, Srinagar in which GCET, Safapora defeated Amar Singh College, Srinagar to lift the trophy.
