The UAB Department of Athletics will honor local branches of the military and first responders during the game, and fans can participate through the Tickets for Troops initiative, where a $10 ticket can be purchased and then donated to local branches and military organizations , retired veterans and their families in the area.

This will be the first-ever meeting between UAB and UConn on the playing field. The Blazers will return to Storrs next season on November 1, 2025.
UConn rounds out UAB's non-conference schedule for this season, which also features Alcorn State (Aug. 29), ULM (Sept. 7) and Arkansas (Sept. 14).

Season ticket packages for the 2024 football season are still for sale.
